There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

Creative Arts Opportunities for every student

Each semester, the K-2 and 3-6 Dance Expos, featuring dances choreographed by a specialist Dance teacher, are brought to life with Drama themes seamlessly woven throughout the performances. These captivating events offer audiences unforgettable and thrilling moments, showcasing every boy and girl shining confidently in their beautiful costumes. Along the way, students build self-assurance and a strong sense of achievement.

In addition to these expos, students have the opportunity to participate in the Arts Unit Dance and Drama Festivals, as well as join Choir Groups, further enriching their creative experiences.

Moreover, Many West boasts four outstanding bands under the direction of Penny Coucill and supported by the P&C. This year, the Performance Band had the honour of playing at the Town Hall. All the bands actively compete in the Australian School Band and Orchestra competition and have earned a reputation for excellence, consistently receiving Gold Awards.

First Nations’ Cultural Awareness to Cultural Responsiveness

Aboriginal Carvings, Yarning Circles, Yarn Wrap Around, beautiful Aboriginal murals, Bush Tucker trails, student agency through invested learning and Student Representative Council are some of the features at Manly West PS to develop our cultural awareness and cultural responsiveness.

At Manly West, we value, understand and reflect on the impact that we have on Aboriginal Education and through appropriate professional learning, we develop the knowledge and capability of staff to promote students learning. We have whole school systems that embed collaborative approaches to enrich evidence informed, cultural responsive teaching and learning opportunities for all our students, including our First Nations’ students.
